Club Description
To communicate something profound in such few words is an enviable skill that few people have and fewer people work to develop. Poetry is often reduced to elementary ‘Roses are red / Violets are blue …” or remembered as impenetrable sonnets and old language. However, there’s so much poetry today that touches on experiences and feelings that resonate deeply within so many of us. Poetry is powerful.
This club is for poets, poetry appreciators, and anyone who wants to learn more about poetry. We’re going to be looking less at classic poetry from long ago and focus more on contemporary forms of poetry: spoken word, song lyrics, and modern poems.
