On Friday 3 November, the PE department hosted our annual Inter House Football competition. This event brought together the entire school community in a thrilling display of athleticism and teamwork. The event featured all Houses, Makara, Erawan, Singha, and Yaksha, with participants spanning across all year groups in three age groups: U13, U15, and U18. A total of 151 students enthusiastically embraced the spirit of healthy competition and camaraderie.
Throughout the event, students displayed remarkable sportsmanship, reinforcing the school’s commitment to fair play and respect for each other whilst also building bonds across other year groups. The cheers and drumming (Thank you Mr Ionel) from the sidelines, demonstrated House spirit and was a testament to the sense of belonging and pride that each student feels toward their respective House.
In the U13 category, Erawan’s boys and Makara’s girls emerged as champions, showcasing their budding talent and determination on the field. The young athletes displayed a promising future for their Houses in the coming years.
The U15 category witnessed Makara’s dominance, with both the boys and girls securing the top spot. Their skilful play and impeccable teamwork earned them well-deserved victories, solidifying Makara’s reputation as a force to be reckoned with in the Inter House Football competition.
In the U18 category, Singha’s boys and girls displayed exceptional skills and leadership, proving that experience and dedication are invaluable assets on the football field. Their hard-fought victories in the U18 category added to the rich history of their House’s success.
The Inter House Football competition was not just a showcase of sporting excellence but displayed our school’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals who embrace teamwork, discipline, and the joy of friendly competition. It was evident that, beyond the competitive edge, the event fostered a strong sense of community and belonging among students. This sense of unity and camaraderie is an essential part of what makes our school a special place.
